Hello, welcome to high five facts. I’m Aaron. Today we are going to be learning facts about deer. Fact number one the Earth has load of layers. We walk around on one layer of the Earth holds the cross. But below that there is a mantle the outer core and the inner core. Each of these layers is different to the next. They are made up of different chemicals and are in different states. For example, the inner core is solid like a rock. But the outer core is liquid like water or lava.
fact number two There is a layer of Earth that moves. Tectonic plates are huge thick pieces of the Earth’s crust. used with the top layer of the mantle these plate can move about the Earth. Only about two inches per year. Not very fast, but this can create reactions on Earth’s surface like earthquakes. When two tectonic plates rub against each other they cause friction and this sends rumbles up through the Earth that can shake the ground and even split it open back to number three. All the countries used to be stuck together.
When you look at a map or Globe now, you can see that we have to fly or sail over water to get the different countries like Australia or Africa. But that didn’t used to be the case. explorers and scientists have found fossils ancient bones that have been kept together by the Earth of the same animals on different continents. The only way this could happen was if they were able to walk across the land so they must have been connected. fact number four If you put the tallest mountain on earth and the deepest part of the ocean, it will still be covered by water.
The Mariana Trench is the deepest part of the ocean. It’s seven miles deep. The tallest mountain on earth is Mount Everest. And it is five and a half miles high. That means that Mount Everest would still be underwater if it was placed at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. Fact number five most of the Earth is covered by water. We live on land on Earth. But only about 29% of the Earth is covered in land the rest. There’s only one person is covered in water. And scientists believe we have only explored around 5% of the world’s oceans, which means there is a lot we don’t know yet about the sea and its creatures.
