Today we’re going to learn five Super facts about spheres fact. Number one spheres have perfect symmetry a sphere is a three-dimensional shape a sphere is perfectly symmetrical meaning if you were to fold it in half both sides would match up exactly because a sphere is perfectly symmetrical. It doesn’t matter whether or not you fold the sphere horizontally offeredly. Both sides will exactly match up. Fact number two diameter and radius are used to measure the length of a sphere the distance from the center of a sphere to its surface is called the radius.
The diameter of a sphere is the maximum distance through the sphere. The diameter is twice the size of the radius meaning that two radii are equal to the diameter. You can work out the volume and surface area of a sphere using the number Pi which is the same for every sphere. Fact number three a sphere has only one surface. Because a sphere is completely round. It has no corners or no edges. This means the sphere is the only shape to have no flat surfaces. The Earth is often mistaken for a sphere shape and although the Earth does look like an exact sphere.
It’s actually called us fearoid. This is because the Earth’s North and South poles are slightly flat meaning it is not a perfect sphere. fact number four you see spheres in your everyday life. There are many real-life objects in the shape of a sphere you can see spheres in the food you eat such as oranges cherries and melons. You see spheres in your house such as light bulbs Christmas decorations and marbles. You also see spheres when you are outside such as footballs stones and golf balls. Look around your house and see what’s fear shaped objects.
You can find. Fact number 5 have a sphere is known as a hemisphere a hemisphere is exactly half a sphere. Any sphere can be divided into two equal parts called hemispheres by a plane that passes through the center. Although the Earth isn’t a perfect sphere. It uses hemispheres to divide it into the four separate sections. There is the Northern Hemisphere southern hemisphere Western Hemisphere and Eastern Hemisphere. The equator is similar to this fears diameter. It separates the Northern Hemisphere from the southern hemisphere. I hope you enjoyed my five Super sphere facts. See you next time.
