How can I find effective Year 6 SATs reading comprehension practice materials?
The government puts all previous reading SATs papers online for free. You can use these to give your child real practice with the same format and question types they’ll face in the actual test.
Twinkl has reading comprehension worksheets and practice materials for Year 6 SATs revision. Some of their stuff needs a subscription, but you can find free resources there too.
When you practise reading comprehension, show your child how to look for evidence in the text for their answers. A lot of pupils lose marks because they just give opinions instead of pointing to specific words or phrases from the passage.
