Easy to bake recipes are the simplest recipes that turn out the yummiest, and if you want your child to start liking food or cooking, you can start with easy recipes and progress to more advanced recipes.

Children always see their mothers in the kitchen and want to help. Unfortunately, some recipes are more difficult than others. What about finding perfect easy to bake recipes that your child can do? Baking time with your child may encourage them to eat healthier because they will enjoy the process of baking and then eating their food.

  1. Marble Cake

Ingredients you will need:

  • 225g of softened butter
  • 225g of sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 225g of flour
  • 2 tbsp of milk
  • 1 vanilla sachet
  • 2 tbsp of cocoa powder unsweetened
  • oil

Cooking utensils you will need:

  • 1 large bowl
  • 1 small bowl
  • Spatula
  • Egg mixer
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Cake container oven friendly
  • 1 skewer
  • Toothpicks 

Steps:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Add the butter with the sugar and beat it until completely blended with the egg mixer.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time and beat them all together until blended.
  4. Add the vanilla and continue to beat.
  5. Add the flour, fold it inside the batter using the spatula, and then use the egg mixer.
  6. Now, add the milk and continue beating for 2 minutes.
  7. Now pour a quarter of the batter into the small bowl, add the cocoa, and blend.
  8. Get your cake container and make sure you grease it with oil thoroughly, then add some flour and move the container until the flour covers all the container, and throw out the excess flour.
  9. Now, pour in the white batter, use a spatula to ensure you have nothing left in the bowl, and tap it against the counter to ensure no bubbles.
  10. Add the cocoa batter on top, and use the spatula again to ensure nothing is left. Then using a skewer, swirl it in to make it look fun.
  11. Now it’s ready, put it inside the oven and bake it for around 45 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean.

2. Pancakes

Ingredients you will need:

  • 3 tbsp of softened butter
  • 1 ½ cups of flour
  • 3 ⅕ tsp of baking powder
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • ¼ of salt
  • 1 ¼ cups of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 vanilla sachet

Cooking utensils you will need:

  • Pan
  • Blender
  • Spatula
  • Turner
  • Griddle

Steps:

  1. In your blender, add the butter and sugar and blend them,
  2. Now, add the egg and blend,
  3. Next, add the vanilla sachet and blend,
  4. Next, add the flour and baking powder and blend,
  5. Then, add the milk and blend,
  6. Last, add the salt and blend. Now, your pancake mixture is ready,
  7. Lightly oil the pan and heat over medium heat,
  8. Use your griddle to scoop some of the mixtures and add it to the pan,
  9. Do not turn it until you see bubbles forming on the top and the edges dry up, then use the turner and flip the pancake,
  10. Repeat until you finish the mixture.

To make this more fun for kids, use different cookie cutters and pour the mixture inside to make fun pancake shapes for them. Not only will they enjoy making their cookie shapes, but they will also enjoy the easy to bake recipe.

3. Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients you will need:

  • 100g of softened butter
  • 200g of flour (self-raising)
  • 150g of brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 vanilla sachet
  • 100g of chocolate chips

Cooking utensils you will need:

  • 3 baking trays that are oven friendly
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Wooden spoons
  • Spatula
  • Baking paper
  • Wiring rack

Steps:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees,
  2. Measure your butter and if it is not soft, put it in the microwave, making sure it does not melt, so about 10 seconds,
  3. Now, mix the butter with sugar using a wooden spoon,
  4. Now, add the egg; it is recommended to crack the egg in a small bowl first to make sure you don’t get any shells in your mixture,
  5. Now, add the vanilla and mix,
  6. Next, add the flour slowly, mixing well. You may start using your hands and using the spatula to scrape the mixture stuck to the sides,
  7. Last, add the chocolate chips and mix again.
  8. It is time for fun. Pour the whole mixture onto a clean tabletop and spread it all evenly.
  9. Now, it is time to prepare your trays. Cut out the baking paper, put it inside the tray, and lay your cookies on top.
  10. Use your hand to make small cookie balls and add them to your tray.
  11. Next, cool down your trays in the fridge for about 15 minutes.
  12. When the time is up, put them in the oven for about 12 minutes, and you will know they are ready when the cookie edges start turning to a golden colour, and the cookies have become flat.
  13. Let them cool down for around 10 minutes, then move the cookies to the wiring rack to cool completely.

After your baking party is over, you’ll need a cup of milk to enjoy these delicious chocolate chip cookies. But, if you have a playdate for your child and their friends and want to make something quick and easy, chocolate chip cookies are always the answer.

4. Cupcakes

Ingredients you will need:

  • For the cupcakes:
    • ½ cup of softened butter
    • 1 cup of sugar
    • 1 egg
    • ¼ cup of sour cream
    • ¾ cup of milk
    • ½ tsp of salt
    • 1 ⅔ cups of flour
    • 1 ½ tsp of baking powder
    • 1 vanilla sachet
  • For the icing:
    • ¾ cup of softened butter
    • 4 cups of powdered sugar
    • 3 tbsp of milk
    • 1 vanilla sachet
    • Pinch of salt

Cooking utensils you will need:

  • 1 large bowl
  • 1 medium bowl
  • Spatula
  • hand mixer
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Cupcake baking tray
  • Cupcake holders
  • Toothpicks 

Steps for the cupcakes:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Mix all the flour, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Mix the butter and sugar in a big bowl and beat them well.
  4. Now, add the egg and the vanilla and beat them together until blended.
  5. Now, slowly add the ingredients to the medium bowl and mix well.
  6. Place the cupcake holders in each cupcake whole on the tray, and fill it up ⅔ with the cupcake batter.
  7. Bake them for around 20 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Once cooking, leave them to cool completely.

Steps for the icing:

  1. Add the butter to a large bowl, and use the hand mixer to make it creamy.
  2. Next, add the sugar, milk and vanilla and beat until everything is thoroughly blended.
  3. Once the cupcakes have cooled down completely, start frosting your cupcakes.
  4. You may also add sprinkles on top for decoration.

Cupcakes are mini cakes loved by everyone, especially children, and they are even better when topped with icing. You can also let your child decorate their cupcakes and create artistic shapes. Remember that the main purpose of easy to bake recipes is to make your life easier while your child eats yummy food.

5. Rice Krispies Treats

Ingredients you will need:

  • 1 pack of rice Krispies cereal
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • 1 pack of marshmallows

Cooking utensils you will need:

  • Saucepan 
  • Wooden spoon 
  • Spatula
  • Pyrex

Steps:

  1. Melt the butter in the saucepan on low heat.
  2. Add marshmallows and stir them thoroughly, so they do not burn; once they have melted, remove the saucepan from the heat.
  3. Add the rice Krispies and stir them well.
  4. Oil the pyrex well and then add the mixture to it, making sure to make it all evened out. 
  5. Allow the mixture to cool completely; once this is done, cut them out into small squares and serve them.

There you have it, a tasty, easy to bake recipe that isn’t the healthiest option, but your child will enjoy the crunchiness of it; just be prepared for the sugar rush that follows.
