Numeracy is an important part of childhood educational development. Learning skills like addition and subtraction, fractions, and multiplication are all examples of mathematics that are applicable to our everyday lives.

Easy math solutions can be taught to make these concepts and operations accessible and easier for students and children to understand. Introducing mathematical concepts at an early age is a great way of giving children the base or foundation needed for further detailed instruction in the future.

If it’s after school help or even homeschool, easy math solutions can be found and implemented into your child’s knowledge base with tricks taught by you.

Easy Math: Addition and Subtraction

Some of the first mathematical operations you will learn as a child are addition and subtraction. Considered easy math, addition and subtraction play an integral part in how we use maths in daily life. Learning to add and take away can be done in a variety of methods that make easy math fun.

Teaching your child what these phrases mean in regard to addition and subtraction is the first step. Inform them of the different meanings associated with these phrases as well. For example, minus is ‘take away’ plus is ‘adding up, and so on.

Knowing your child’s ability is also incredibly important in regards to the difficulty you can test them with. Using objects like cheerios, so can ask them to take away two from the ten you have on your plate. After successfully doing this, you will be able to continue to help your child grow in their mathematical capabilities.

There are lots of different games and activities that can be used to happily deliver easy math to your children. Using a plethora of materials such as play doh, Lego, Duplo, and so on, children can use things that they view as entertainment, as a means of growing academically and advancing their own mathematical capabilities.

Ensuring that you are challenging your child is an important step as well. If your child is younger or needs a little more help, letting them count their fingers and toes is a great way of encouraging them to engage with easy math material, plus they will find it incredibly fun.

Addition and subtraction provide the foundation from which all other maths can be learned. As children grasp more complex concepts like division and multiplication, addition and subtraction are the basic concepts that lead them to understand sequences and patterns.

Instructing children in these basic formats sets them up to understand more complex math in the future.

Easy Math: Easy Fractions

Fractions can be difficult to understand at any age, but introducing easy math solutions can aid in understanding them and also being able to use them effectively. While they can seem like an abstract concept, they can be explained simply to your child using real-life objects.

This helps them visualise the maths and provides them with a greater depth of understanding around the subject. You could use anything in your house to demonstrate fractions from cakes and pizzas to handmade, paper circles.

From these objects, you can break down what a half is, what a quarter is, what a third is, and so on. This is also a great way of introducing children to mathematical words and allows them to become accustomed to them, giving them the confidence to use them in their everyday speech.

If using household objects, you can take something as simple as a paper plate and get your child to imagine it’s a pizza or a cake. Ask them what they think a half is and get them to physically show you using the paper plate.

From here, you will be able to garner what your child knows and gently begin teaching them more complex fractions. For example, a quarter is each of four equal parts into which something can be divided into or is. After these fractions are grasped, you can do other fractions like an eighth and divide your paper pizza into this so your child can physically see the fractions in action.

When your children are dividing these physical pieces, remember to ask them why they are doing what they’re doing and how they have come to this conclusion. This allows you to determine how well they have grasped the concept. Tasks like this provide easy math solutions for people wanting to learn more about easy math solutions.

Easy Math: Learn the Times Tables

Times tables can be a fun and dynamic activity for your child to do when looking for easy math. Depending on their ability, you can use a variety of tasks and activities to test knowledge and grow their understanding of these mathematical operations.

Teaching your child how to multiply can be incredibly challenging, but it is very rewarding to see them recognise sequences and patterns through the times’ tables that are presented to them. Starting with simple numbers is important and helping them work their way up the times’ tables helps children gain confidence in their mathematical abilities.

Numbers and sequences hold the key to engaging children with times tables interactions. Allow them to explain to you the similarities and differences between the two times tables and four times tables, for example. This will allow them to see the patterns and recognise why certain number sequences occur.

Using physical objects also helps children physically see their times tables. Using things like cheerios or straws, you can help them do their times’ tables by multiplying two straws by another two straws. They can visually see that there are now four straws.

Another method is making the physical tables using a sheet of paper and a pen. Here, you can write out the times tables of your chosen number and help your child learn the patterns that occur in each number individually.

This is an effective and easy math solution that can entertain children as they grow their mathematical skills and capabilities. Giving your child space to learn and grow their minds is important as well. Let them set accomplish their challenges by providing them with easy math solutions to follow.
